Ambassador Balayan’s meeting at the Belgian House of Representatives

On July 8, Ambassador Tigran Balayan held a meeting with members of the Belgium-Armenia Friendship Group of the Belgian Senate and House of Representatives, led by Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee Els Van Hoof.

The meeting included a detailed discussion on the expanding Armenia-Belgium partnership and the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in that process.

Belgian parliamentarians presented to the Ambassador the draft resolution on “The Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Need to Establish Peace in the South Caucasus,” which was unanimously adopted by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Belgian House of Representatives on July 2 and will soon be submitted for the Parliament’s approval.

In this context, Ambassador Balayan outlined Armenia’s consistent efforts aimed at establishing stable and lasting peace in the region through the normalization of relations with its neighbors.

Belgian parliamentarians reaffirmed their support for Armenia’s sovereignty and democracy, emphasizing that the upcoming resolution reflects the clear message of Belgium’s different political parties in this regard.
