Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister Receives the Ambassador of Armenia

On February 9, Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Employment, Economy, and Agriculture, David Clarinval, received Ambassador Tigran Balayan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Balayan presented the achievements recorded in bilateral relations and ongoing projects, drawing his interlocutor’s attention to infrastructure programs in Armenia-particularly the implementation of the “Crossroads of Peace”-and to the opportunities for participation by Belgian companies in these projects.

The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the expansion of cooperation between Armenia and Belgium in various fields and expressed his support for efforts aimed at their further deepening.

Tigran Balayan informed David Clarinval about the outcomes of the Armenia-European Union partnership and new initiatives. Reference was also made to the agendas of the summits to be held in Armenia in 2026 and to the participation of Belgian leaders in them.

At the request of the Deputy Prime Minister, Ambassador Balayan touched upon in detail the results of Armenia's agenda for establishing peace in the South Caucasus, emphasizing the historical significance of the Washington Peace Summit and the role of the "TRIPP" project in terms of strengthening peace. In this context, Tigran Balayan emphasized the importance of the early release of Armenian hostages held in Azerbaijan.
