Members of Standing Committee of Foreign Relations meet with representatives of Belgium-Armenia Friendship Group

You are in Armenia at a very interesting period. Parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia in two months. At the same time, we are at the epicenter of geopolitical developments.

The Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the RA National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan said this during the meeting with the delegation led by the Head of the Belgium-Armenia Friendship Group of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium Els van Hoof.

The meeting was held on March 30. The members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Hasmik Hakobyan, Maria Karapetyan and Eduard Aghajanyan also participated in the meeting.

Sargis Khandanyan valued the active and effective cooperation with the Belgium-Armenia Friendship Group of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium.

Els van Hoof, thanking for the warm welcome, noted that numerous discussions have been held regarding Armenia, and now they are also interested in the developments taking place both in Armenia and the region.

Sargis Khandanyan noted that many events and changes have taken place after the last meeting with the members of the Friendship Group.

The members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations answered the guests’ questions, presenting the details related to the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the “TRIPP Route” project, as well as the electoral process.

Reference was made to the cooperation between Armenia-the European Union, the development of democracy in Armenia, the protection of human rights and the strengthening of the rule of law, the regional developments and security.
