Ambassador Tigran Balayan Participated in the Autumn Reception of the "Europe Medialab" Project

On September 9, Ambassador Tigran Balayan, as an Honorary Member of the Board of Europe MediaLab, delivered opening remarks at the initiative's annual autumn reception.

Victor Negrescu, Vice-President of the European Parliament, and Jean Van Wetter, CEO of the Belgian development agency "Enabel," also addressed the opening of the event.

In his remarks, Ambassador Balayan highlighted the pivotal role of independent media, emphasizing the importance of Armenia's participation in the project. He noted that this engagement enables Armenian journalists to deliver credible and objective reporting directly from Brussels. The Ambassador stressed the necessity of consistently raising Armenia-related issues within EU institutions. He further emphasized that such educational and professional platforms significantly contribute to enhancing the resilience of the Armenian media sector and integrating European best practices, while underlining the key role of expanding cooperation in the information sector to deepen the EU-Armenia partnership.

The reception brought together leading representatives from European Union institutions, civil society, academic circles, and prominent international non-governmental organizations.
