25th anniversary of the Independence of Armenia celebrated in Brussels

An official reception was held on September 28^th in the main hall of the Royal Academy Palace of Belgium in Brussels, organized by the Permanent Mission of Armenia to EU and the Embassy of Armenia to Belgium jointly with the Mission of Armenia to NATO, to celebrate the 25^th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.

High ranking members of the European Parliament, European Commission, the Belgian Parliament and government, officials of the European External Action Service, the Belgian Foreign Ministry and NATO, ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic corps, many prominent members of the Belgian society, heads and members of Armenian church and community organizations attended the reception.

In his welcoming speech Tatoul Markarian, the Head of the Permanent Mission of Armenia to EU, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, underlined that despite the existing challenges and difficulties Armenia has made great achievements during 25 years of independence and succeeded as an independent and democratic state. The Ambassador touched upon the present and future steps towards the further strengthening of statehood, spoke about the dynamic development of the Armenian-Belgian relations and increasing cooperation with the EU.
