Ambassador Balayan's visit to the College of Europe in Bruges and the speech at the European Diplomatic Academy

On December 15, Ambassador Tigran Balayan visited the College of Europe in Bruges and gave a speech at the European Diplomatic Academy.

Within the framework of his visit, Tigran Balayan met Ms Federica Mogherini, Rector of the College of Europe. During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the prospects of Armenia-EU relations, and touched upon the latest developments in the South Caucasus, including the issue of the forcibly displaced population of Nagorno-Karabakh and the current state of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations The Ambassador gave a very detailed presentation on the "Crossroads of Peace" project initiated by the Armenian government.

The sides also discussed issues concerning further cooperation with the College of Europe.

After the meeting, Ambassador Balayan also delivered a comprehensive lecture entitled "Crossroads of Peace: Vision for the Caucasus" for the diplomats of the European Diplomatic Academy, during which he presented the current state of Armenia-EU relations, Armenia's European aspirations and perspectives, Armenia's future expectations from the European Union, regional problems and "Crossroads of Peace" project. The lecture was followed by a Q&A session, during which the Ambassador answered all the questions posed by the diplomats representing EU institutions and member states.

Ambassador Balayan gifted books about the history of Armenia and the region at large to the College Library.
